Three friends, after a big party in the country house of one of them, decide to take their dogs and go out for a walk. Dawn is coming and, affected by alcohol and drugs, a series of small events take place that will end up in a mysterious disappearance.

Short, upfront and simple, Gabriel Azorin’s movie has received critical acclaim from critics and audience alike. It’s an interesting project that, with a straightforward story, leaves no one indifferent. Reminding us of films like La caza, by Saura, Los galgos brings hope to a lulled Spanish film industry, proving that there are still unexplored talents in our country.

Los galgos is a half-length film that had to pretend to be a short film to be screened. The director had to cut back the original 31 minute long version to transform it into a 20 minute film so it could participate in several festivals, such as Seminci. The original version has only been seen in private screenings; meaning only a few people know the half-length film Azorín had produced. Los galgos has finally found a place in La Cabina Festival, where it will be screened in its full version.

Gabriel Azorín has a degree in Audiovisual Communication by the University of Valencia, finishing his studies at the Saint-Denis París VIII University and the Iberoamerican University of Mexico DF. From 2006 to 2008 he worked in television and theatre in Mexico DF (REC-PLAY) and in Valencia (Conta Conta Producciones and Teatro de lo Inestable). In 2008 he started his studies at ECAM (Film and Audiovisual School of Madrid) where he earned a degree in Direction in 2011. In 2009 he founded the artistic investigation collective lacasinegra where he is developing several film-related projects connected to new forms of productions and audiovisual creation. Los galgos is his graduation project from ECAM and has been selected to participate in numerous festivals such as San Sebastian, Lille, Cinema Jove, ZINEBI and Estoril; it has also been selected by the publication Caimán Cuadernos de Cine y Fotogramas as one of the most interesting short films in Spain during the year 2012.

Los galgos is part of the Official Section of the 6th edition of the International Half-Length Film Festival La Cabina.
