Terremere (Aliou Sow, 2014)

This 32-minute long medium-length film directed by Aliou Sow depicts the paradox of being an African in France and a Frenchman in Senegal. It also opens a window to a war that nobody speaks of, in a forgotten corner of the Sahara dessert. Due to this complicated situation the production team of Terremere had to be continuously accompanied by an army vehicle during the filming.

Director Aliou Sow received the Public’s Choice Award at the Festival des Cultures Francóphones in Munich (FFAT) for his short-film Le monde est petit.

Terremere is part of the Official Selection of the 8th Edition of the International Medium-length Film Festival La Cabina that will take place from the 5th to the 15th of November at the Filmoteca de Valencia.
