Based on a true story, Mendel’s Joke (Fokusy Mendelya) tells the story of genetics professor Boris Grigorievich. One morning, on his birthday, while Boris is driving to one of his classes at the university, his calm life will suffer a dramatic change when a pregnant woman about to give birth asks him to take her to the closest hospital. The woman disappears after giving birth and Boris is made responsible for the newborn. To prove he is not the newborn’s father, the professor asks for a paternity test. Its result will change the course of things forever… won’t it?
