Piet is Rolf’s old dog and he is sick. He suffers dysplasia and only a 3000 euro operation can cure him. That’s an amount Rolf doesn’t have, so he decides to bet everything on one race horse to try to save Piet.
This is a beautiful old love story between a man and his dog. Simple but captivating. The director, Thomas Stuber, doesn’t need more than 30 minutes to engage the viewer of this movie filmed in black and white. Thomas Stuber was born in Leipzig and directed his first film in 2007, Teenage Angst. Stuber studied at the Film Academy in Baden-Württemberg and received the Hollywood Student Academy Award this past June for Of Dogs and Horses (Von Hunden und Pferden, 2011).
Of Dogs and Horses is one of the films selected for the Official Section of the 5th Edition of Valencia’s International Half-length Film Festival ‘La Cabina’.
