The Monster of Nix is a 30 minute long animated musical which tells the story of Willy, a troubled boy who fights the destructive force of an all-devouring monster in the village of Nix. The dark fairy tale comes through the hand of artist & director Rosto; known for his on-line 1998 graphic novel Mind My Gap. Rosto’s previous films have been described as “hyper-intense cinematic experiences where unconventional stories take place in an apocalyptic universe of surreal landscapes”. However, this small film treasure is suitable for kids from 10 to 100.

All this wonderful animation needed was a beautiful soundtrack and a high quality vocal cast. With Tom Waits and Terry Gilliam lending their voices to some of the characters, The Monster of Nix becomes a tempting option. All the information can be found at http://www.monsterofnix.com/

The world premiere of the film took place at the Animation Festival of Annency, in 2011. It has participated in several other festivals and has been awarded best soundtrack at the Clermont Ferrand Festival.

The Monster of Nix is one of the films selected for the Official Section of the 5th Edition of Valencia’s International Half-length Film Festival ‘La Cabina’.
