Synopsis

The life of a 1960s model. Beautiful Marta spends her days as a model and her nights with Julian at the Olympia Grill. A chance meeting with an old classmate, Honza, who was convinced Marta was studying Medicine in Prague, makes Marta reflect upon her superficial lifestyle. ‘The Ceiling’ is Vera Chytilová’s graduation film for the prestigious Prague Film School.
