So it goes tells the story of Elli, a young girl from Helsinki’s metropolitan area that has never left her country. Her only dream is to travel and see more of the world than the dark neighborhood that surrounds her. One day she meets Heze and, after spending all her savings paying off debts, sees in him an easy target to take advantage of. However, Heze falls in love with Elli, and she will have to choose between Heze’s love or his money.
“Being an adult is a great pain in the ass. Life is like a cow sitting of the train tracks that doesn’t move until the train runs her over”, Elli tells Heze as an example of street philosophy. The film’s director Tai Heikki Pesonen manages to fin humor in the darkest parts of people’s lives and narrates a dramatic story sprinkled with comical situations and a big dose of humanity.
