Mia lives with her older brother Levin. Things have changed between them lately. After their father’s death, Levin has taken refuge in drugs. Only Mia can help him. In this mix of fantasy and reality, Mia has to enter the Minotaur’s labyrinth where she will unfold an adventure she never would have imagined. This German medium length production is directed by young Florian Schnell and combines animation and fiction in an adventure drama for all audiences.

Mia und der Minotaurus (Florian Schnell, 2011)

Florian Schnell is the director of the fraternal love story of Mia and the Minotaur (Mia und der Minotaurus). Schnell was born in 1984, studied Performing Arts at the University of Hildesheim, graduated with honors in 2008 and started his studies in Film Direction at the Ludwigsburg Filmakademie.  After several experimental films, he directed his first short film in 2010, Meinungsmeer. Mia und der Minotaurus received the Max Ophüls critics award in January 2012.

Mia and the Minotaur is one of the films selected for the Official Section of the 5th Edition of Valencia’s International Medium Length Film Festival ‘La Cabina’.
