At the start of the Coronavirus pandemic, young transmasculine filmmaker Cássio Kelm ends up isolated in a small apartment with his father. Close to You subtly tells a layered story about personal transition, unspoken tenderness, and Brazilian politics.

Cássio Kelm

Cássio Kelm, transmasculino, estudió en la EICTV, Cuba. Ha dirigido 15 cortometrajes que han sido proyectados en muchos festivales, como IDFA, FICCI, GIFF, São Paulo’s Shorts IFF, São Paulo Latin American FF, Olhar de Cinema IFF. Su documental “”Soy”” (2017) ganó el Premio Especial del Jurado del IDFA para Estudiantes Documental. “”Mothers of Derick”” (2020) es su primer largometraje, estrenado en el FF de Turín. “”Perto de Você”” (2021) se proyectó en el IDFA.
