Over the past twenty years, thousands of people were recruited in North Macedonia to work in Afghanistan and Iraq. When the troops were withdrawn, these people returned home – taking their war experiences with them.

Anabela Angelovska

Anabela Angelovska is a film director and artist based in Hamburg. Her films and video installations, which explore the construction of identity and take a critical view of representation, have been presented internationally at art institutions and film festivals. Her documentary “Hakie-Haki. Living as a Man.” premiered in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of the Berlinale 2015.
