Mr. K walked to the Saudi Embassy in Istanbul on the 2nd of October 2018 to apply for a divorce certificate in order to remarry Mrs. Turkish C. Upon entering the embassy, Mr K was no longer heard, he disappeared. The disappearance causes widespread political conflict, leading to a 9% collapse of the Saudi Arabian Stock Exchange in two hours. This piece tells the true story of the assassination of journalist, dissident, Jamal Khashoggi. Events are told on the timeline on which the event was reported in news, not in which assassination was possibly committed. It is certain that Khashoggi was the victim of a political assassination, but what happened and where the body ended up… is unknown.

Jan Ijäs

Media artist and filmmaker Jan Ijäs lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. Studied documentary film directing in University of Art and Design Helsinki and creative writing and art education in Jyväskylä University. Ijäs works with documentary, fiction and experimental film. The films of Ijäs deals with serious and difficult social themes, like migration into foreign and hostile societies. Ijäs’s films have been shown widely abroad film festivals and as installations in museums and galleries. He has won numerous awards, including Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition Jury Award in 2012 the Finnish Risto Jarva Prize in 2011, Amnesty International Award at the IndieLisboa film festival in Portugal 2018.
